Geoff Berry has been the PGA Professional at Bromborough since 1991 having turned pro in 1982 after a very successful amateur career including winning the England Boys Championship in 1979. An accomplished player, Geoff is a three time winner of the Cheshire & North Wales Matchplay, achieved No 1 on the North Region PGA Order of Merit, has been victorious in several Regional Pro-Ams and, playing with Bromborough members, has succeeded in winning through to National Pro-Am competition Finals.
In recent years he has become an authority on the latest equipment innovations from manufacturers and the way they can help the amateur player and says:-
“Many, many golfers confuse price and value. They are attracted to kit that is being offered at a bargain price without making sure that the product meets their needs or is of the right quality. I think my role as the Pro at Bromborough is to help people improve their enjoyment of the game not just through tuition but also by undergoing a proper fitting process.
I am a member of the Foremost Golf buying group which enables me to source equipment from all the major manufacturers at competitive prices and I encourage people to check with me before they buy as I can often come up with a good deal. The big saving for customers who buy from me though is that they won’t waste money on clubs that aren’t right for them.”
Geoff also provides a club re-shafting and re-gripping service and the shop is stocked with items to meet all your everyday golfing needs. All the leading brands are on display and a custom fitting process is provided for Ping, TaylorMade, Callaway and Titleist.
Helping provide the service are Assistant Professionals Tim Backhouse and Alex Evans and the shop is open from 8.30am until 6.30pm in the summer, closing at dusk in the winter months.
